Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Sacred Contract?
A Sacred Contract is an agreement that we all have made prior to being born. This contract is part of our life’s purpose and shapes everything that we do. Are you in an unfulfilled career or relationship? Â For those of us who get in touch with our Sacred Contract our lives are filled with meaning and purpose. When you don’t understand your life’s purpose anxiety, depression, and fear can set in. A Sacred Contract is not only about our external life - jobs, relationships, or our day to day interaction with others but our overall relationship to our personal power and our spiritual power.
Working with your Sacred Contract you will learn how to use your personal power and spiritual power. Learning about your Contract is most powerful. It will shift the way you will look at your own life for the rest of your life thus changing your life forever. Living in “survival” mode will become a thing of the past. Discovering your Contract is very empowering in the process you learn to see symbolically through the language of archetypes. Archetypes help in healing they form a symbolic understanding and help us learn the lessons that we need to learn.
What is an Archetype?
Archetypes are universal patterns of power that we all carry within our psyche. All of us speak “street archetype.” The moment that we meet someone we instantly tap into one of their archetypes depending on the type of power that person carries within them. You might meet a young man and say, “he is a knight in shining armor,” or “he is such a geek,” or “what a con artist.” These descriptions are archetypes which communicate characteristics of power and behavioral patterns which we all recognize instantly. There are a multitude of archetypes. The energy of Archetypes manifests in our lives and completely embodies us. We each have twelve archetypes who are our constant companions. Each one of these archetypes has a story to tell. They are our energy companions. Through them we learn to truly understand ourselves and our Sacred Contract.
Where do Archetypes come from?
The great philosopher Plato spoke of archetypes through his “Theory of Forms.” Plato believed that the material world as it seems to us is not the real world, but only a shadow of the real world. The “Forms” that Plato referred to were archetypes.
The Swiss psychologist Carl Jung believed that archetypes live in “the collective unconscious” and serve to organize, direct and inform human thought and behavior. Being universal and innate the energy of the archetype can be found in the form of myths, stories, rituals and legends. Although the way that each of us expresses our archetypes is unique - the energy of each of these archetypes also corresponds to others in our lives. Learning to read your own archetypes also allows you to read other peoples archetypes. Being able to do this allows you to better understand your family, friends and just about anyone that you meet.
Why is this important?
Having the knowledge to be able to understand archetypal language helps you understand why certain relationships have been necessary in your life. Who is pushing your buttons? What drives your passion? How are you responding? Understanding this symbolic language allows you to take a step back and see the energy dynamics that are created allowing you to make new choices to better your experience. Working with archetypes teaches you that everything has a purpose - a meaning. Archetypal patterns in us awaken our own divine potential. They liberate us from our thoughts and feelings thus providing us with a new viewpoint and assisting us in reaching our highest potential.
Is there a list of archetypes that you can provide us?
The archetypes listed are just a sample of the many archetypes that exist. Â If you feel that you have an archetype that isn’t found on the list you can include it as one of your twelve. In selecting your archetypes pay close attention to discover your life patterns, lessons, and gifts.
